In May 2005, 10 of us headed for the classy resort of 'Sand Bay' near Weston-Super-Mare, to compete in a 'Shoot Out' tournament. In the morning we came runners up in a tournament against mostly West Country teams including Torquay Cops & Robbers. In the afternoon we played versatility and thanks to some excellent strategic management (whist working strictly within the rules!) we won, pocketing our first ever prize money of £200 - that's £20 each! Special mention should go to Catherine for drinking too much on Friday night but still playing all day on Saturday, elegantly throwing up between matches.
We shared the 'Sand Bay' holiday village with a large number of (mostly) 'mature' skittles players, one of whom duetted beautifully with Laura on the Karaoke in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Any yes, it was fancy dress and yes, we did dress up as play-boy bunnies.
