Thunderbirds awarded Bronze CAPS award

'CAPS' stands for 'Club Action Planning Scheme'.  It's an All England Netball initiative, designed to promote

good practice in the development of players, coaches and umpires at all levels.

In the words of AENA, "CAPS brings many benefits to participating clubs. Players, coaches and umpires are offered a

clear development pathway by the club’s high profile and publicity".

Exactly what Bronze CAPS status will mean to Thunderbirds Netball Club in the future isn't clear yet.

Hopefully we can get some more players onto umpiring and coaching courses and possibly purchase kit for the junior squad.

Achieving Bronze CAPS status is great news for the club, and thanks largely to the hard work of Louise Ellams

in assembling the necessary paperwork and ensuring that representatives from Thunderbirds Netball Club had

attended all the necessary courses.

The award shows that Thunderbirds netball club is committed to providing its members with a safe, fun

and fair environment for enjoying netball and improving their skills and fitness.
